Year End Blues

So I'm sitting here sifting through my photos.
Reminiscing on the year gone by, trying to find out how far I've come and where I am going.
I'm trying to identify myself, and the people around me.
Who am I?
What do I want?
I don't suppose I will ever have a final answer-until I see Jesus. As life unfolds everyday, the puzzle pieces itself together. Like I've said umpteen times, 2006 sped by mercilessly. It definitely wasn't a smooth sail. But in the midst of adversary, God was and still is faithful. It was a significant year. Thank you Jesus...for everything.

My 2006- in chronological order...

thanks for all the memories, and cheers to a great year ahead!

Bathroom Faux Pas

Don't forget to rinse the conditioner off because

When your hair dries, it becomes clumpy and hard and oily.

Feels kinda like cheap, greasy hair gel.
It's really disgusting.

It's worse than mistaking shampoo for cream bath.
Heh...

Rockin' around the Christmas Tree

Ah, I'm having such a blissful December I tell you...
The time of the year where I turn into a shoppingwhore.
But it's all in good cheer.

Tell you something...
I've been waiting for it to come, but it didnt come.

Until just a moment ago, I was driving back when
'Rockin around the Christmas Tree'
played on the radio. And then, without a warning, this all too familiar fuzzy warmness came over me. It spread from the tip of my toes, all the way up to my head. I was yelling along to the lyrics and doing a lil' jiggle! Then I stopped, and realized "Hey! It's here! I feel the Christmas spirit!"

I know, I know- Rockin around the Christmas Tree??? What the? That's not even Biblical!....I don't think the Christmas Spirit is very Biblical, no?

But anyway, for that split second, if you asked me to do anything -I probably would. That's what the Christmas Spirit does to you. It makes you feel like having wine and hugging everyone!

Erm..that didnt come out right.
I didnt mean it like that.

But anyway, IT'S HERE!

Rocking around the Christmas Tree
at the Christmas party hop
Mistletoe hung where you can see
Ev'ry couple tries to stop

You will get a sentimental feeling
When you hear voices singing
"Let's be jolly; Deck the halls with boughs of holly"
Rocking around the Christmas Tree
Have a happy holiday
Everyone's dancing merrily
In a new old fashioned way

So today, after weeks of procrastinating, we finally went to chop off our unruly manes.

Envyno and I decided since it's Christmas, we deserve a little pampering.
I mean, afterall-it's our hair you're messing with.

The results? Very Satisfactory. Very chic, very sleek

Not one, but TWO girls fussing over your hair, fighting to blow dry it....

The stylist used some minty shampoo + he gave me a head massage! Delightful! OOooohhh, did I mention he has really strong hands?

...and that he was quite a looker? [abit Ah-Beng lah]...but still a looker =P

The Before
Look like Lion King hor?

all in a days work

it's over!
the pianoexam is over!

so what better way to celebrate than-good ol' retail therapy!!
there's nothing like browsing, choosing, trying, deciding, scanning, paying and owning! Satisfies you to the very core. shopping releases some sort of magical hormone, it's like endorphins, makes you happy and giddy with satisfaction.

shopping with the girls is always a delight. it's amusing to see them squeal and fuss over pretty things. The "OMG! That's such a sweet dress!" and the "that would look really nice on you, try it!" adds the spice to the shopping.

The rule of thumb is, shop till...
  • Your legs feel like breaking
  • There's only one green/red note left in your purse
  • Your hands are sticky
  • Your hair oily
  • You're starving
  • You need a bath
  • You need a really good foot rub & a cuddle with brad pitt =P
Only then, can you stop. Other than that, march on! DO NOT quit! Or else...you'll never ever be invited to our exclusive trips ever. Muahahaahahaha! Quitters are not Shoppers!

If there's one thing I've learnt, it's

"When in doubt, buy a bag..."

Let’s not talk about how pathetic some of the services in this wonderful country is. Ahh…I love Malaysia too much to bitch about her mediocrity. Don’t you just love how everyone who works in servicing is always so predictably…SLOW?
Sometimes I wonder who actually services who….

This morning, I called Streamyx-again.
I’ve memorized the number, mind you!
We always always have problems connecting. It’s been a persistent problem and crops up every so often.
So I dialed 1300-88-9515…

A computer voice says
“Thank you for calling TmNet. Press 1 for…bla bla bla bla bla”
And after you press something, you will then be directed to another voice that will further filter you to yet another department.

Basically, they take you on a merry-go-ride. Which, is still bearable.
When you’ve finally reached where you want to reach, some girl with atrocious English mumbles something like

“We are sorry to in-fom yew of our service intraption. Plis be in-fom that TmNet is undeh-going major repair work….etc”

It’s sooo painful just listening to her drone on and on. For goodness sakes, cannot find someone who speaks better English ah??! Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza also better lah!

Wait a little while more, and a human picks up. He then proceeds to take you through a whole grandmother story of a verification before he says, “Ok yes, you are not calling us for fun. You really are our customer!”…

-_- for fun? walk on a bed of nails also better.

Then he will ask you about the problem. You tell him you cannot connect, your DSL is not lighted and it happens every so often. Then he puts you on hold for 5minutes. After what seems like eternity, he picks up again, and proceeds to take you through the whole throubleshooting process.

DON’T ASK ME TO TROUBLESHOOT YOU GOON!!! I’VE ALREADY DONE THAT! YOU THINK I SO STUPID WANNA CALL YOU FELLAS IF I DON’T KNOW HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT AH?!! Grrrrrr….

No, of course you be nice and say that you’ve already done all that nonsense and thank you for taking such a long time. You then tell him that you wonder if the problem is on their side. He then says he has to check with his superior and asks if he can put you on hold for 1minute. You say yes, and end up waiting for 15. Oh Joy!

He then picks up and asks you if you want to make a report. You say, no-you’ve already done that twice and now you want to lodge a complain because you’re not about to take anymore of this crap. You ask where you should e-mail/call to. He then says he has to check with his superior and asks if he can put you on hold for 1minute. You say yes, and think to yourself how ironic this is. You wait for another ten years and decide to hang up before you kill someone.

You think- if you have to wait this long to lodge a complain, what makes you think your complain won’t take that long to actually reach someone who will then pass it on to someone else, who will leave it in a drawer for their grandmother to read….and by the time someone decides to get to it, we’ve already reached Wawasan 2020. Ah…fabulous.

tis' the season to be selfish

I'm getting the gasp!-it's-the-end-of-the-year-already??-feeling
It's about time anyway...

I woke up yesterday, and realized it'sDecember!
Crap of the Craps....

I love December because :
  1. ...it's the holidays
  2. ...SALE! SALE! SALE! BUY! BUY! BUY!
  3. ...everyone comes home & we are all together
  4. ...my birthday is closer & closer
  5. ...of Christmas, of course
But I also don't quite like December because :
  1. ...I never know what December feels like
  2. ...it's supposed to be the best of the 12months, but it speeds by in the wink of an eye. I promise you, December is the fastest month of all!
  3. ...I'm usually too up to my neck in preparations for Christmas that I don't get to kick back, relax and enjoy the jolly-ness of the season
  4. ...I know I will be broke, come January
  5. ...I know a new year is starting, and it scares me to think of the uncertain road that I will treading. When you step into the a new year, the confidence you had in the previous year doesn't seem so valid anymore. Well, to me at least.
  6. ...I know everyone will go back soon, the holidays will end soon, and everything that was put off, will now resume.
I always get so nostalgic, and emotional in December.
I'm always too reluctant to move into a new year.
Maybe because I feel I haven't given my all to this year.
But like we all know too well, time waits for no man.
I wish it was man waits for no time instead, which sounds really stupid.
But! If you are clever, you would get it. And I get it. Haha.

So this year, I've become more clever.
With cleverness comes, selfishness. I want to put everything away, and have this December for myself! I want to smell the fresh air of December, and see the December moon, I want to feel the December wind tingling against my skin. I want to catch the sands of time in my hand, and savour every moment. I want to know what December means.
Is it the beginning, or the end?

SO please don't call me [except for shopping/recreation *wink*], don't ask me to do anything for you, don't make me feel obligated, don't disturb me. I want to be selfish this December.

Thankieewwwww....
