Boys on the Beach

The legendary Beach Boys. Don't laugh ok. I know they look really odd- people in the 60's all looked odd wan lah. Odd was their black.

The Beach Boys are an American rock& roll band. They recorded 36 hits & many best-selling albums. They are especially well known for their distinctive vocal harmonies. They have sold more singles and albums than any other American rock band.

I went on a frenzy downloading Beach Boys songs....yes, I know illegal music is stealing. Nevermind lah, half the band is dead anyway

What I love about their music is that it really has that beachy-surfy-coconut trees-hawaiian shorts-sunblock feel to it. You can't help but sing along. Not the humming type of sing along, but the yell till your lungs hurt & your face turns green type....It's SO MUCH FUN!

You should try it. But shut your doors and windows. Your neighbours might call the cops.




Just out of curiousity, I did a look-up on them. The original Beach Boys were made up of 3Wilson brothers, their cousin and a friend. Their early hits made them major pop stars, although their status as America's top pop group was usurped in 1964 by the emergence of The Beatles who became The Beach Boys' major creative rival.

Soon, Brian Wilson began experiencing mental problems- the stress of maintaining a high level of creativity was too much for Brian to bear. The band began to reshuffle. Over the years, they continued to produce albums and played in front of millions. Soon, and like any other band Beach Boys started to phase out and were soon replaced by younger, better bands.

It's quite tragic how it ended. Some members suffered from alcohol and drug abuse, several times even appearing on stage drunk! Finally Dennis & Carl died from drug abuse. And Brian was continued to be mental.
