But this isn't a revelation for just little Tom and his wife Kate- women the world over will be sizing up their partners followish Polish anthropologist Boguslaw Pawlowski's shock findings.

Pawlowski and his expert team have discovered that size really does matter and that respective heights of a couple holds the key to their romantic and sexual attraction. After studying 600 men and women aged 19-50, scientists worked out the formula for the perfect couple.

1 : 1.09

Meaning, the man needs to be 1.09 times taller than his woman to be her perfect match!

The study suggests women seek moderately taller men for security and fertility, while men feel more comfotable looking down on women.

Says Palowski "Our results show both me & women adjust their preferences to reflect their own physique. Relatively taller men, and relatively shorter women, have higher reproductive success (to produce children of a more average size children). Thus both sexes, irrespective of their own size should aim for this characteristic in the opposite sex"
