Rough Tough Outdoors

This is a delayed post, cos I'm so embarassingly untech-savvy. Sigh.

Moving along....

So,camping in the rough tough outdoors. What an experience! We went in excited, and came out with a grand total of ONE leech bite. "UMeng! Why is your ass bleeding?!". It's proven-people who use insect repellant/mozzie patch turn leeches off.

Our designated campsite was Sungai Congkak, in Ulu Langat. But when we reached there, we were greeted by our wonderfully hardworking Malaysian Army. They tah pau-ed the whole Jungle to their "training" wor...yeah rite lah. Sit there eat Nasi Lemak.

Exasperated. We left in search of another camp site. After awhile, we reached an Orang Asli settlement. We were told that there would be a waterfall inside...

Being the gung-ho macho happy campers we are-we trodded off. Full armour-thinking it would be a piece of cake to find that waterfall inside.

Who knew that the hike in would be this lasak?? We took almost 2hours and even almost got lost hiking in, baggages and all. And throughout the entire hike, we only one miserable Orang Asli who didn't want to talk to us.

After what seemed like an eternity of never ending green, we finally heard the glorious sound of water flowing! You can imagine the joy. AHhh....I've never seen a more refreshing sight. Trust me, it looks better in real live.

We took awhile to set up camp. I made my own tent, with the guidance of Ms Michelle Indiana Jones of course. She's a Ranger okayyy...don't mess with Rangers. They do more than sell brownies! This is our dinner table.....we only had one miserable lamp to light up the entire jungle. SO it was pretty dim, realy why it looks so bright in the picture is cos i have a damn good camera =P See, the best thing about eating in the dark is that, everything tastes better when you can't see what you are eating. Really. And this, my friends is what happens to you when you go Russia. Tsk tsk....I should send this to his Mother.

We mostly ate [from 6pm-12am!] and skinny dipped [u seriously have to try it], tee hee....and we tried to play chor tai dee in the dark, but we soon enough realized how pointless that was. Then we moved on to prying secrets from each other which proved futile cos there wasn't anything valuble to dig, to begin with. We slept and everyone woke up, no wild boar attack! YAY!....and there we are. Happy campers. It was nice, leaving the world behind for 2days. I'll galdly do it again anyday...
